Personal

Organ donation.

A personal contribution. No medical advice, no details that do not belong here. Just the question of why this decision matters.

Why I write about this.

I have had a kidney transplant myself. That is why organ donation matters to me. I do not want to share medical details here, but rather encourage people to make a decision.

Organ donation is a very personal decision. For me it is closely connected with gratitude and with the question of how we take responsibility for one another. This page is deliberately kept factual.

What organ donation means.

Organ donation can save lives or significantly improve the quality of life of others. The decision is voluntary and personal. What matters is that you document your decision and share it with the people who may be asked in an emergency.

Decide Inform yourself and make a conscious decision.
Document Record your decision on a card or in an app.
Communicate Talk to your relatives about it.
Review Revisit your decision from time to time.
